Project plan: Collaboration between the Flemish Club for Arts, Sciences and Letters and the Order of the Friends of Manneken-Pis

Mission:

Our mission is to promote the rich history of Brussels and the value of the Dutch language and culture through a collaboration between the Flemish Club for Arts, Sciences and Letters and the Order of the Friends of Manneken-Pis.

Vision:

We strive for an integrated collaboration between the two organizations to strengthen the Flemish and Dutch-speaking identity in Brussels. We want to make a broad audience aware of the cultural and historical treasures of the region and emphasize the Dutch language as a connecting factor.

Strategy:

  1. Substantive Collaboration:

    • Organize joint events such as lectures, exhibitions, and cultural exchanges that highlight the history and culture of Brussels and the Dutch language.

    • Create a digital platform on which information and educational materials about Brussels history and the Dutch language are available to the public.

  2. Networking and Collaboration with Other Organizations:

    • Identify and involve other cultural and educational organizations interested in similar objectives.

    • Work with schools to develop educational programs that integrate the history of Brussels and the Dutch language into the curriculum.

  3. Promotion and Awareness:

    • Conduct joint marketing campaigns to increase awareness of our mission and events.

    • Use social media, press releases and newsletters to expand our reach and generate interest.

Goals:

  1. Short term (within 1 year):

    • Organize at least three joint events.

    • Develop a shared website with relevant content about the history of Brussels and the Dutch language.

  2. Medium term (within 2-3 years):

    • Expand the number of members of both organizations by at least 15%.

    • Develop educational programs and reach at least five schools in Brussels.

  3. Long term (within 5 years):

    • Become a leading source of information and promotion for the history of Brussels and the Dutch language in the region.

    • Create a sustainable partnership that makes a lasting contribution to the cultural and educational development of Brussels.

Budget:

  • The financing will come from membership fees, subsidies, donations and sponsorship contributions.

  • A detailed budget plan should be prepared including costs for events, marketing, website development and educational programs.

Risk analysis:

  • We must take into account possible opposition or disinterest from certain stakeholders.

  • Challenges may arise in raising sufficient financing and resources to implement the objectives.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Regular meetings between the boards of both organizations to discuss progress.

  • Evaluating event attendance, membership growth and impact on schools and the wider public.

This project plan provides a basis to start and develop the collaboration between the Flemish Club for Arts, Sciences and Letters and the Order of the Friends of Manneken-Pis. It is important to remain flexible and make adjustments based on evolving insight and stakeholder feedback.
